Held right in front of the grandstand and bar, this high-energy arena sits at the very heart of the show — making it one of the best seats in the house for fast-paced, hard-hitting action. Competitors battle it out in standing block, underhand, tree-felling, sawing, team races, and crowd-favourite championship events that test strength, speed, and precision.
With dedicated Veterans classes and an Under 18 Youth competition, the Woodchop Section proudly supports both seasoned competitors and the next generation of axe-wielding talent.

YOUTH WOODCHOP WORKSHOP
Seasoned woodchop competitors teach kids, aged 10 and over, axe handling, precision chopping, and safety.
Learn new skills in a friendly atmosphere, fostering a love for woodchopping and the outdoors.
NEW IN 2026 - the opportunity to compete in a Youth Novice event on Wednesday morning 10am at the end of the workshop event.
