School AgVenture Program
We’ve re-visioned our education opportunities to make the Emerald Show more connected to classroom learning than ever before. The Show is no longer just a fun day out – it’s a living classroom that links directly to the Australian Curriculum and inspires curiosity, creativity, and community pride.
Integrating the Emerald Show into classroom learning isn’t just fun – it’s directly connected to the Australian Curriculum v9 across multiple learning areas. By preparing entries or engaging with Show activities, students can:
• English & Literacy – Develop writing, presenting, and reflective skills through creating captions, posters, and reports.
• Mathematics – Apply measurement, data collection, and problem-solving to real-world contexts like agriculture, produce displays, and competitions.
• Science & STEM – Explore biological, chemical, earth and environmental sciences through animal studies, plant growth, sustainability, and food production.
• HASS – Connect with local history, geography, economics, and civics by investigating community traditions and industries.
• The Arts – Express creativity through visual arts, media, and design in themed competitions and pavilion displays.
• Technologies – Apply design, engineering, and digital solutions in projects that reflect innovation in agriculture and rural industries.
• General Capabilities – Strengthen critical and creative thinking, ethical understanding, intercultural awareness, and personal/social capability through participation and teamwork.
Participation also supports the Cross-curriculum Priorities by deepening understanding of sustainability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, and Australia’s engagement with Asia through agriculture and trade.
In short, the Show provides an authentic, community-based context where students can apply knowledge, demonstrate skills, and showcase creativity – all while feeling proud of their learning.
Discover how your students can learn, create, and shine – all through the Emerald Show.
