Cooking

A much-loved highlight of the pavilion, this deliciously creative section celebrates the timeless joy of baking and preserving. From beautifully baked cakes, biscuits, and scones to tempting confectionery, fresh breads, and homemade jams and preserves, there’s a class for every passionate cook and proud kitchen creator.

With dedicated youth sections to inspire the next generation, as well as the highly coveted Dark Rich Fruit Cake class, there’s plenty to challenge and delight entrants of all ages. We’re also proud to host the State ANZAC Next Gen Competition, designed especially for 18–40 year olds ready to showcase their skills and carry on treasured baking traditions.

Whether you’re sharing a family favourite, perfecting a classic recipe, or trying something new, we invite you to enter, share your talents, and be part of a warm and wonderful celebration of homemade goodness.
